Connect Sterling to EC3 for Verified Carbon Data and PAS2080 Aligned Project Reporting

The EC3 integration enables Sterling users to access and synchronise embodied carbon data directly from the EC3 platform by Building Transparency. Project resources within Sterling can be aligned with verified Environmental Product Declaration data to support carbon estimating, benchmarking and sustainability reporting workflows.

By connecting resource data with EC3 carbon intelligence, organisations can improve the quality and consistency of embodied carbon assessments across projects. Carbon values can be aligned to PAS2080 reporting requirements across lifecycle stages A1 to A5, helping project teams support sustainability targets, procurement strategies and client reporting obligations.

The integration also maintains traceability back to the original EPD source documentation. This provides greater transparency and confidence when validating carbon calculations with clients, consultants and project stakeholders. Teams can demonstrate where carbon figures originate from while maintaining a connected workflow between estimating, procurement and sustainability reporting activities.

Benefits

  • Access verified embodied carbon data directly within Sterling

  • Support PAS2080 aligned carbon reporting workflows

  • Maintain traceability back to original EPD documentation

  • Improve consistency between estimating and sustainability data

Features

  • EC3 Carbon Data Synchronisation - Connect Sterling directly with the EC3 platform to access embodied carbon datasets. Resource level carbon values can be synchronised into estimating and cost planning workflows.

  • PAS2080 Lifecycle Alignment - Align embodied carbon calculations with PAS2080 reporting requirements across stages A1 to A5. This supports structured sustainability reporting throughout project development and delivery.

  • EPD Linked Traceability - Maintain direct links back to the original Environmental Product Declaration documentation. Users can validate and evidence carbon calculations during audits, submissions and client reviews.

  • Resource Level Carbon Mapping - Associate carbon data directly with project resources and commercial items within Sterling. This improves visibility between cost, quantity and sustainability metrics.

  • Carbon Benchmarking and Analysis - Use verified EC3 data to compare products, materials and procurement options. This helps teams make more informed low carbon design and procurement decisions.

  • Secure Authentication and Access - Authenticate users securely to access EC3 data services and linked datasets. Access permissions remain controlled through authorised user accounts and integration settings.
